Check out some of the great events happening in Adelaide this October.
Semaphore Music Festival – 4 to 7 October

Now in its fifteenth year, this music festival takes over the unique beachside suburb of Semaphore (as well as Hart’s Mill, Port Adelaide) over the October long weekend. As always, there is a diverse line-up of local and interstate acts on offer, with mix of blues, roots, folk, pub rock and even a dash of comedy. A new innovation for this year’s event on the public holiday Monday is Down By The River, a celebration of language, music and culture coinciding with the UNESCO Year of Indigenous Languages.
Field Good Festival – 5 October
Cost: $60.02 (day pass) / $89.47 (camping)

OzAsia – 17 October to 3 November
Location: various venues in the Adelaide CBD
A contemporary arts festival entirely focused on our engagement with Asia, and incorporating theatre, dance, film, music, writing and food. Beginning in 2007, OzAsia delivers a diverse annual program that attracts up to 200,00 patrons each year. A highlight is the free Moon Lantern Festival, held in Elder Park on 19 October, while the popular Lucky Dumpling Markets return once more during evenings across the program.
Oktoberfest in the Gardens, 12 October
Location: Pinky Flat, War Memorial Drive, Adelaide CBD
The biggest Oktoberfest celebration in Australia and occurring at locations around the nation, the Adelaide event offers a unique flavour, given the strong German influence in South Australia. The picturesque Torrens riverbank in the heart of the city provides the ideal location for this Bavarian style beer festival. Along with an impressive selection of German beer, cider and wine, there will also be food stalls and entertainment offerings across a number of stages.
